If you want to feel the great outdoors, go to Happogahara, which is about 1 hour by car. It is a plateau that spreads at an altitude of 1,000~1,200m, and it is said that it got this name because it overlooks Nikko and the Nasu mountain range below and the Kanto Plain in the distance. It is also known as a famous place for Astragalus azaleas, and the best time to see them is in June. Many people also enjoy strolling around during the autumn foliage season.
In addition, "Oya Temple", which was built so that it was surrounded by a large rocky mountain cave, is also an extremely rare tourist spot. In the main hall, there are 10 beautiful polished Buddha statues carved directly on the natural rock wall. Among them, the 4-meter-tall statue of Senju Kannon in the main statue is said to be the oldest stone Buddha in Japan by Kobo Daishi.

We stayed here with three generations of parents and children during the first half of Golden Week! There was a children's playground in front of the front desk, so we didn't get bored when we checked in! The room had a Japanese-style room and a bed. The temperature in the room was completely different from the temperature inside the building, and it was still hot even with the air conditioner turned off. So we kept the window open until we went to bed. The dinner was so filling that adults were very satisfied! There were many children, so we couldn't finish it all. Breakfast was buffet style, so it wasn't too crowded and we were able to eat slowly! I forgot my thermometer and hair clip, so I called the night of the day I checked out and had the thermometer mailed to me. After that, the hair clip was mailed to me about a week later, and I was grateful that both were sent for free. Thank you very much! I would like to use your services again if I have the opportunity.

I stayed with my Shiba Inu (medium-sized dog). First of all, in one word, it's the best!! For this price, we had such delicious dinner, midnight snack, breakfast, and Hot springs. Thank you. That's all I can say. When you have a dog with you, dinner is usually a barbecue. As for Food, Dinner → The dog stayed in the room and Food was mainly Japanese, such as fish ball hotpot and beef stew, and it was really delicious. The portions were also quite large. Midnight snack → You can eat from 21:00 to 22:30. There are three types of Dandanmen: Sichuan Dandanmen, white sesame Dandanmen, and black sesame Dandanmen. This month I had black sesame. The black sesame noodles were not spicy and even children could eat them. Breakfast → Japanese food, Western food, salad, dessert, fruit, buffet style! There was also a local specialty? Leek soba! It seems that some parts of Guest rooms are not cleaned properly. However, dogs can stay with us, so this level is not a problem. And the facilities seemed a little old. But I didn't mind at all. It may not be suitable for people looking for new and clean accommodation. The hair dryer seems to take a while to dry, so if you are impatient, it is better to bring your own. Hot springs was a little lukewarm? Slippery? The open-air bath was also very comfortable. I was able to relax in the bath while bathing in the forest. There is also a reclining bath. My skin became smooth. About the dog, It was very relaxing. At the entrance and exit for dogs, there were walking goods, showers, towels, etc., which were very well thought out and I was grateful. Overall, I would like to come again. There were some old parts of the facility, some abandoned facilities, and some parts that I thought were a shame. I definitely want them to do their best and stay! Whether you are with a dog or not, I think this is the best value accommodation.

I have been here several times since it was Kanpo no Yado. It is in a quiet environment and the hotel is not the latest one, but I was able to stay there leisurely and without worrying. I can stay with my dog... that's what's attractive about it. Hot springs are good and Food is good. I want to go again.

I stayed in Western-style Twin Room, which was not too small and was quite enough. The bed was also very comfortable and didn't cause any back pain.

Since it used to be a Kanpo Inn, the location on top of a mountain (it's hard to walk) and the vast space of the entrance hall are amazing! The rooms are also quite spacious, with 20-30% more space than other hotels in the same price range. The refrigerator also had a bottle for the in-house water purifier and an extension cord, which was convenient for charging, and was appreciated. Above all, it was helpful that we could share a room with our dog. However, if you don't have a bag or cage that can fit your dog's whole body, you will have to enter the room from a different entrance, so be careful. We kept the dog in the room even during Food. The area around the hotel was a good walking course. Kitsuregawa Hot springs are famous for their beauty-enhancing properties. The large public bath has an open-air bath, so you can relax, but unfortunately there is no sauna! There is no cold water tub, so I alternated between a hot water bath and a cold water shower to get myself in shape. I think if they had a mini bath for pets, it would be a huge hit. The breakfast buffet had some processed school lunch items, but the variety was great and I could see the effort put into it. Coffee to take home is included. My family pointed out that there was no welcome drink. The 500 yen ticket for use in the building was also conditional on a minimum of 3,000 yen. With the member discount and weekday use, it was just under 16,000 yen, so the cost performance was good.
