Hotel Sonia Otaru is the hotel which you can enjoy Otaru – one of the popular tourist sites in Hokkaido.
It takes about 8 minutes on foot from Otaru Railway Station. Its impressive European style exterior makes harmony with beautiful landscape along Otaru Canal. Other than a variety of compact twin rooms including ones with canal view, such larger rooms as Deluxe Twin and Deluxe Double are also provided.
On December 27th 2018, a new building with guestrooms and hot spring has been open.
The hot spring is located on the 7th floor, and its name is “Otaru Unga no Yu” – a local hot spring welling out in Ironai District of Otaru City. Also, new restaurant and café has been open in February 2019.
The restaurant called “IL ONAI” is sushi bar, which serves Hokkaido local sushi made by sophisticated chefs, inventive sushi which you can enjoy a quest of a new taste, and broil of shrimps, shells, beef, lamb with a glass of wine or new Japanese sake.
The café called “SONIA COFFEE” is a specialty shop, which coffee is served by French Press. The original pastries like Financier and Haskap Cake can also be enjoyed.
