Oyama Senmaida is a series of 375 terraced rice fields arranged in a stepped pattern on a steeply sloping area of 32,000 square meters at the foot of Mt. Oyama. It is known as the closest rice terrace village to Tokyo, and is the only one in Chiba to be selected as one of the "100 Best Rice Terraces in Japan" designated by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries. One of its charms is that you can enjoy different atmospheres depending on the rice planting and harvesting seasons. In the spring before rice planting, the water-filled rice terraces reflect the sky like a mirror, in summer the whole area is dyed a vibrant green, and in autumn the golden rice ears sway in the wind, creating a traditional Japanese landscape. Various events are also held, such as an owner-operated agricultural experience program and an illumination event that takes place every year from autumn to winter.
