Miyazaki Phoenix Zoo is located on the hills of Hitotsuba Coast facing the Pacific Ocean. Approximately 1,200 animals of 90 species are kept in the vast 130,000m2 site. You can meet animals from all over the world, such as lions and Masai giraffes from Africa, tigers and orangutans from Eurasia, bison from North America, capybaras and squirrel monkeys from South America, and kangaroos and emus from Oceania. There are also daily events such as the graceful flying flamingo show by Chilean flamingos and a goat parade in which 50 goats run 180m at once. There are also plenty of animal-related experiences, such as holding cute small animals and taking a walk with large Asian elephants. Depending on the elephant's physical condition, you can even ride on its back and take a commemorative photo. It's sure to be a memorable experience. There are also many rides that even small children can enjoy in the amusement park zone in the zoo. The lazy river pool, which can be used in the summer with just the zoo admission fee, is also popular. Stroller rentals, nursing rooms, and multi-purpose toilets with diaper changing stations are also available, so even those with small children can spend the whole day here without worry.
