At the mountain stream open-air bath, the outdoor bath has doubled in size, and with the newly added “terraced open-air bath” you can enjoy the sight of the Takinoyu River flowing below you. Be healed by these bathing facilities right in the middle of nature, as you enjoy the gentle sound of the babbling brook and the natural scenery of Tateshina!

Oiwa, deeply intertwined with Tateshina’s rich history, creates a scenic beauty combined with the nature of Tateshina; that natural scenery spreads out before your eyes, right outside the window. The window connecting to the outdoor bath can be open and shut, creating a nice outdoorsy sensation even in the indoor bath.

Enjoy the barrier-free “Maki-no-Yu,” with its refreshing aroma of Japanese umbrella-pine (maki), the “Hinoki-no-Yu,” embracing you with the fragrant scent of cypress (hinoki), and the “Ishi-no-Yu,” in which you can feel the pleasant touch of real stone (ishi) against your skin.
All three of these open-air baths will allow you to enjoy the outdoors, and they are available for you to rent for private use.
