The name “Yuze” originates in the gushing up of hot water from the shallows of a river. About 1,500 years ago
Led by a dragonfly (danburi), a husband and wife became rich.

The couple had a daughter named Keiko. When she grew up, she went off to the capital and became a princess of Emperor Keitai.
She took the name “Princess Kissho.”
The princess fell ill on a visit to her home village. It is said that in order to heal, she soaked in the Yuze hot spring.
This is the story from which “Nagomi no Yado Hime-no-Yu” takes its name.

From the large communal baths and the outdoor baths you can enjoy the scenery of the four seasons in a beautiful gorge.
Fresh verdure, the fall colors, snowscapes… all seen through clouds of steam.
